Error 401

For the past few days, I have been getting a popup anytime I open a document.

An error has occurred within our system.   Please try again or contact support if this error persists. (Error 401).

I just "repaired" the app and rebooted the PC just as instructed in past posts but this didn't resolve the issue.

If I click on "OK"  I can use the product fine, it just is annoying to have to address it at every document open.

Please let me know what other steps I can do to resolve.

Hi @Christina Torres,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums!

I understand that you are getting a 401 error message when opening Nitro pro.
Could you please provide the exact version and build of your Nitro Pro? This can be located under the Help tab > About Nitro Pro (ex: Nitro Pro 13.x.x.x).

Kind regards,

Hello @Christina Torres,

The 401 error message has been fixed on the latest build of Nitro Pro 13.
Please update your Nitro Pro 13 installation to the latest build. Here's the direct download links of Nitro Pro 13.26 installer:

32bit - http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13263505/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x86.msi
64bit - http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13263505/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x64.msi

The link below is from Microsoft to help you check if your Windows is running a 32bit or 64bit version:

Kind regards,

Thank you, it resolved the issue.

is there a setting to make sure Nitro updates on it's own, or where can I easily go and do manual updates if there is one?

I have new information:

My nitro pro was

There is no in-app method of checking for an update.  It turns out the latest version of release 12 is

YIKES!   (I apparently had missed a bunch of updates.)  SO I downloaded the current version of 12 from the nitro website: https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/downloads

and that webpage holds the current revision of the update.

1. uninstall

2. install

3. log out of the online portal from within the NitroPro application

4. log back in using the login button.

5. restart Nitro - and no more Error 401.

Do this before version 12 is deprecated.  With a current activated license of 12, you'll be able to update and flush the 401 error.
