Can't deactivate and reactivate my Nitro on a new computer

You have a lovely how to that is supposed to tell you how to deactivate Nitro on an old computer and reactivate it on a new computer, only it doesn't work and I just go round and round in circles. It tells you to go to this webpage, www.nitropdf.com/activation which doesn't exist. I already have the correct version of Nitro installed on the new computer and I have my serial number.  This should not be a hard thing to do.

Hello @Paralegal 3,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums

Please note that we no longer support Nitro Pro 11 and its activation servers have been shut down which is why you are having issue deactivating and activating.

We recommend upgrading to our latest version, V13, which comes with significant stability and security improvements, as well as many feature enhancements, in particular in conversion and OCR functions. To upgrade to Nitro Pro 13, please visit our Upgrade page https://www.gonitro.com/pro/upgrade

Alternatively, you can upgrade to the latest build of Nitro Pro 12. Per our Sunset Policy, https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/sunset-policy , we have stopped making feature enhancements to version 12 once we released version 13.

You can find the Nitro Pro 12.16.9.574 using our offline installer links below for your new machine and activate it with your current Nitro Pro 11 serial number 234600-xxxxxx-439740:

x32 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12169574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x86.msi
x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12169574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x64.msi

To know if you have 32-bit or 64-bit, please refer to this article:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/15056/windows-32-64-bit-faq

Important: If you are using Chrome or any of the Chromium-based browsers (e.g., Vivaldi, etc.) and you are unable to access the above installer links, you're more than likely experiencing the results of a new security feature that was silently pushed out to the browsers, which blocks .exe/.msi/etc downloads without any visible error or prompt on the browser's frontend user space. In order to bypass this, please try these steps:

a. Right-click the link you're trying to download, and select "Save link as..."
b. Choose your save location and select "Save"
c. On the bottom edge of your browser window, the Downloads bar should now appear and the file will show up with a red error icon, attempting to block the download. Press the caret button and select "Keep"

With regard to the issue when deactivating on the old machine, you may just uninstall it through Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features.

Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps.

So there is no way to use a program I paid for on my new computer? I am not happy about that. I am fine with you not supporting it, or offering updates on it, but I should be able to still use a program I paid for.

Hello @Paralegal 3,

My sincere apologies that my previous is unclear.

Kindly note that you can still install Nitro Pro 12.16.9.574 using the direct links I have provided.

Once installed, you can activate it using your Nitro Pro 11 serial number.

Should you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reach-out again.

Thank you very much, I have successfully upgraded to version 12 and it is working.  Is there any way at all that I can get version 10 on to my computer?  I already have it installed, I just need a way to activate it.  Between version 10 and 11 you changed the way edit works, so sometimes I need version 10 to edit pages the way I want to.

ok, I activated version 12 and everything was good, but I just tried to open a PDF and it said I needed to activate Nitro, but when I click on activate, it says it's going to deactivate on this computer.  What is going on?

So there is no way to use a program I paid for on my new computer? I am not happy about that. I am fine with you not supporting it, or offering updates on it, but I should be able to still use a program I paid for.

Hello @Paralegal 3,

Thank you for this post and I am glad to assist you further.

Could you please provide a screenshot of your 'About Nitro Pro' window under Help tab? This window should show the exact build of the program. I would love to see the build and if it has Activate or Deactivate button in it.

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
