Not accepting SN from previous version for update or upgrade.

My SN is both letter and numbers.for Nitro PDF Pro that I bought years age at Fry's Electronics.  I still have the box, book, disc.  When I try entering the NPP**********  sn, it gives an error saying it's all numbers.  Thanks for the help.
