Deskew and Adjust Image puts black bars, obliterating text, on all but one page.

When I use the Deskew and Adjust menu item and move the exposure slider and apply to all pages PDFPen puts vertical black bars down the right side of all but the first page. This is not undoable. (It is revertible.) Thank you
