Hugh Allison
Hello, I am using Nitro Pro 13.49.2.993 to review and mark up some files which are kept on a network location. I am accessing the network location through a VPN as I am working remotely. Every 5-10 minutes, the program hangs for about 1 minute and I have to wait for this to go away before I can keep working. The hardware and software specifications for my computer are below. Official Nitronaut Leslie V Posted October 15, 2021 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted October 15, 2021 Hello @Hugh Allison Thank you for contacting Nitro support! We have a setting that changes the way Nitro Pro loads files from network drives that may help with this issue. This was specifically intended for VPN situations where the files may load slowly and is only available in Nitro PDF Pro v13.42 or later. This can be enabled by manually changing the following key in the registry: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nitro\Pro\13\settings] "network_disk_enabled"="/b 1" If this key does not exist you will need to create it. Please give this a try and let us know how it goes.
Hugh Allison
Hi Leslie, I have made the changes to the registry key as you suggested. The program has not frozen for a while now since making the change, I think this has fixed it - thank you.
