Freezing when attempting to scan

Just upgraded to ver 13 & downloaded most recent version

Scanner is Epson DS-510 - which worked perfectly fine with the prior version of NitroPro (I can't remember exactly what version I upgraded from)

Scanner is on and connected directly via usb.

Scanner drivers updated & current

Scanner functions fine from other applications

When attempting to scan from NP, program spawns dialogue box for scan; however, dialogue box appears in task bar at bottom of screen  but cannot be accessed nor closed by any method I have found except to kill the process "nitro_scan2pdf_app (32bit) thru task manager. 

I have removed (using removal tool) NP and reinstalled fresh without solving problem.

I borrowed an Epson ES-400II scanner and did not have this problem
