Jenny Baldwin
No matter what file I open or try to edit, the system crashes. It's been happening for two days.
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted December 30, 2021 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted December 30, 2021 Hello @Jenny Baldwin, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! For the sake of initial troubleshooting of this issue, we recommend that you repair your Nitro Pro. Please reboot your computer before and after running this repair to ensure that there are no ties to Nitro still active in the background. You may refer to this article: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/repair/000004603 If Modify button is greyed-out, please refer to this screencast that will teach you how to go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features and repair your Nitro Pro program or any application installed on your system: https://www.screencast.com/t/rvpUkq40c If repairing didn't help, could you please provide the following?: -Is this a new issue or has it occurred since after installing Nitro Pro? Any changes you are aware of before this happened (e.g. Windows Updates)? -Build of Nitro Pro are you working with. You can find this out by clicking on 'About Nitro Pro' under the Help tab (format is 13.X.X.X, e.g. 13.46.0.937 OR 12.X.X.X, e.g. 12.16.9.574) or you can go to Control Panel > Programs and Features. -Where are the files saved (local, a shared drive or an external drive) when you are trying to open/edit? Can you check if you have the same issue when the file is saved locally? Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you. Jim Mamamia
I have a similar issue and very frustrating. The software has been working for years without any significant issue. I am running the latest 13.58.0.1180. It started a few days ago with random crashes. Now, it's almost on every file. There are some files that I am able to edit, but mostly not. I am running Windows 11 on a fast laptop (for at least a year). All it takes for me to click on adding a signature, or try to draw a line. I see hour glass and crashes out. I rebooted, uninstalled the app, rebooted again, installed the latest, rebooted again, and tried to edit a file. Same thing. Then I saw another post about removing registered entries. I tried that script, not sure if it uses the latest registry entries (there were some errors). I repeated above steps, reboot, run the cleanup script, rebooted, installed the latest again, rebooted, and same result. I am in the middle a critical deadline and this just came up a really bad time. I would greatly appreciate a quick reply and solution.

For me to better assist you in troubleshooting this issue, could you please provide me with the following?: -Any changes you are aware of before this happened (e.g. Windows Updates)? -The serial number entered to activate the program. To send it via private message, hover your mouse on top of my name 'AllainU' and select 'Message'. -Is the crashing only happening with your Nitro PDF Pro or also with Windows/File Explorer? Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
