Corrupted pictures when importing PDFs from other software

I'm creating a big document with lots of pictures (jpg) in tandem with a partner who is using a different PDF editor.  When we merge our PDFs, about 1/3 of the 115 pages have pictures that are scrambled.  They are not scrambled on any other PDF reader, including Adobe, chrome, MS Edge, and several others, just in Nitro.  This is a HUGE problem, as document goes live in a workshop on Tuesday.  Is this a knows issue, and is there a workaround?  If not, it's bye bye Nitro.
