Error code: 0x40000029 - Please help!

Hello everyone,

Thanks in advance for reading this. Sometimes Nitro is unable to open a PDF document, when other PDF programs can. I get a specific error message that says:

"The document testdoc.pdf could not be opened. Please contact Nitro Support for assistance. Error code: 0x40000029"

Does anybody know why this happens from time to time, or what this error message is in reference to?

I understand that you are getting the error code 0x40000029.
This issue has been fixed in Nitro PDF Pro 13.58 build and I recommend to update your installation to that latest build. 

The Nitro PDF Pro 13 installer can be located from the link below:
https://www.gonitro.com/product-details/downloads - Click the 'Download Nitro Pro 13' link.  

To update, simply run the installer and it will automatically update your installation to the latest build of Nitro PDF Pro 13 (

OK great, I really appreciate the quick response. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled Nitro, have re-entered my activation code, and am now showing I have Nitro Hoping this will solve the issue, thank you Reymund!
