Nitro Pro license activation/deactivation best practices for cloud PCs

Hello, I am looking for best practices for Nitro Pro licenses and Cloud PCs.  We plan to build 20 Windows 365 Cloud PCs that are dedicated to one user each and install Nitro Pro on each machine as part of the automated build process.  Occasionally these Cloud PCs will have to be rehydrated with the latest OS build/patches and therefore destroyed and recreated automatically.  I will make sure we will always remain in compliance with the number of seats but I want to make sure we properly deactivate a license and then reactivate when a fresh Cloud PC is being provisioned.  What's the best way to make sure the licenses don't run into activation issues when replacement PCs are being built?  Apologies if this as already been asked but I couldn't find it in the Activation category.

Thanks,

Charlie

Hello @Charles Davis,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums!

Before I can assist you with your inquiry, could you please shed some light on what virtual environment will host the Cloud PCs?

Hi Allain,

Its a Windows 365 Enterprise environment.  Each Windows 10 or 11 machine is Azure AD joined from a provisioning policy.

Thanks,

Charlie

Hi Allain, I'm hesitant to purchase Nitro Pro licenses if I can't be assured the licensing activation can support Cloud PCs spinning and up and down every few months.  Virtual PCs are fairly common these days so surely I can't be the first person to ask.  Can you direct me to someone who can answer my question?  Thanks.

Hello @Charles Davis,

Thank you for your response and my sincere apologies for the delay.

With the environment you will deploy Nitro Pro, you'll need another MSI installer that accepts a license-file, instead of a serial number. This is another type of licensing that works perfectly with virtual PCs.

To be able to get an Enterprise installer with a license-file, you must purchase 20-users or more through our Sales Team by filling-up this online form: https://www.gonitro.com/contact-sales

Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps.

Hi Allain, perhaps you can ask the Sales Team to check the queue for that "Contact Sales" form and ask them to reply to my inquiries?  I messaged them last week but have not heard back and just sent a follow up request through the form again.  Thanks for all your help.

Sincerely,

Charles

Hello @Charles Davis,

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience and before I reach out to their team, did you request to get a quote for 20-users or more licenses?

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Allain, I've not heard from the Nitro Sales Team.  If I purchase the licenses through the website can I obtain the Enterprise installer and license file through you?  Or must I purchase through the Sales Team?  I am on a tight timeline so if I can't obtain the licenses I require by this week then I'll need to look at other vendors.

Thanks again for your help.

Sincerely,

Charles
