Every time I try to open Nitro I get an error message that says "The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." However, I am not sure how to proceed with reinstalling (if that will even work) because everything I can find is to download the new version.

Hello @Adrian Wicker,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums!

The VCRuntime140.dll file is a Windows file that Nitro Pro may use during the launch of the software but the file is a Windows component. This error may also indicate a problem with the 2015 version of the Visual C++ Redistributable.

Because there is a known conflict between the 2017 version and the 2015 version, please follow these steps to potentially resolve this installation issue:

1. Open Programs and Features from Control Panel

2. Uninstall Nitro Pro and the 2017 version of the C++ Redistributalbe, if that is installed on your system through Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features

3. Then visit the link below, download and install the latest version of Visual Studio (vc_redist.x64.exe & vc_redist.x86.exe). Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 all share the same redistributable files:

4. Restart your computer
5. Reinstall your Nitro PDF Pro 13 using the installer from this page:

x64   https://downloads.gonitro.com/professional_13.67.0.45/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x64.msi
x32   https://downloads.gonitro.com/professional_13.67.0.45/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x86.msi

To know if you have 32-bit or 64-bit, please refer to this article:

After installation, you can activate it by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activate by entering the same serial number 504937-xxyyzz-574366

Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps .
