Unable to Reactivate on new PC

I am moving a user to a new PC.  I deactivated the Nitro PDF Pro v12 license on the old PC, and after installing v12.16.6.574 on the new PC, it fails to activate.  I get the following error;

-24: Activation Error.

Please note that we no longer support early builds of Nitro Pro 12 or earlier versions and those activation servers have been shut down. Thus, any activation or deactivation attempt on these versions will no longer work.
However, your license was transferred to our new activation server and will now work with the latest build of Nitro PDF Pro 12 which is 12.16.9.574. You can find the latest Nitro Pro 12 installers here:

Once you install this software you can activate it with your current Nitro Pro serial number. Please note that per our Sunset Policy, https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/sunset-policy, we have stopped making feature enhancements to version 12 once we released version 13.

Thanks for the reply Reymund.  I'm guessing there was a typo in your response, as you listed  12.16.9.574 as the latest version, however the download link you referenced contains version 12.16.6.574.  I had first tried that EXE, but when running executable, the installation fails after it appears to complete the download.  The download status gets to 99%, and then I get an error "Nitro Pro Setup Wizard has failed".   I had then searched for the MSI installer for 12.16.6.574, which I found, and would install OK, but then wouldn't activate.

I had also attempted to activate it manually, but the manual activation server wouldn't load properly.  Is there another way I activate this software?

There's a typo in the download page but the .exe installer will download the resources online to install the 12.16.9.574 build. After the installation, the version and build can be confirmed when you open the software then navigate to the Help tab > About Nitro Pro. 

Please uninstall and delete the MSI installer as it is not 12.16.9.574. Here's the direct download link to the 12.16.9.574 MSI installer:

Please check the About Nitro Pro and ensure that it is 12.16.9.574 after the installation before activating the software.

Thank you Reymund.  The direct links you provided did work and I was able to activate the software.  For future reference, do you know if there is a listing somewhere of versions that are still able to activated?  The error messages we were receiving were not very descriptive and we wasted a lot of time trying to resolve this issue.

The versions that are still able to activate is in the download page at https://www.gonitro.com/product-details/downloads

  • Version 12.16.9.574 is the latest build of Nitro PDF Pro 12, this version accepts serial numbers that start at 234.
  • Version 13.x.x.x is the latest version at this point and this requires a version 13 serial number which start at 504.

Always check the version of your license so you would know the version of the software that you need to install. You can use our licensing portal https://licenses.gonitro.com/prd/portal at to determine the version of serial number.
