WHY is this happening? There is NO password. Downloaded a bank statement and now want to save it with a new file name and this error message (PDF is secured and cannot be converted without the correct permission password) won't go away. PLEASE fix this asap and/or advise on how to get around this.

Hello @Alex Owens

Thank you for posting on our Community Forums!

Secured files are meant to be locked for editing for security reasons.

If you wish to "unlock" the file, you may reach out to your bank for permission.

Nope. It's NOT just bank info. This has ONLY happened since downloading the upgraded version of Nitro.

Hello @Alex Owens

Nitro Pro's latest version includes significant enhancements to both its stability and security features, which explains why it outperforms older, discontinued versions. Users can confidently rely on the software to ensure that their files are safe and protected with security settings working as intended.

To check the security settings of a file in Nitro Pro, right-click on any page and select the Security tab. From there, you can easily view which actions are permitted or restricted, granting the PDF owner full control over who can access and edit their documents.

If you have a file that should be accessible but is still not opening, even though there are no security settings applied, please send it to us for further review. Our team will investigate the issue and help you resolve the problem.

Thanks but, that didn't work.

Another Nitro user posted elsewhere the same issue with a downloaded payroll report. My issue is with a downloaded bank statement. Never, ever had this issue downloading anything before and has only occurred with the new version of Nitro.

The specific verbiage states: "...pdf is secured and security settings cannot be changed without providing the correct password."

There is NO password upon download. There is NO password period.
