Graham Jupp
Good afternoon I have been using Nitro Pro Serial No. 2346**************, understood to be version 9.0.7.5 but your ‘Help Activate’ webpage gives this as version 12. I recently purchased a new computer, running Windows 11. I downloaded v12 in accordance with the advice given on the Forum, posted 6/30/2023 to Carol Farmer-Wright. However, the setup stopped at a popup ‘Files in Use’ which stated ‘Some files that need to be updated are currently in use’…. ‘The following applications are using files that need to be updated by this setup. Close these applications and then click Retry to continue setup or Exit to exit it’ ….. ‘Brother Control Centre (BrCtrlCentr)’ My printer is a Brother model and the file BrCtrlCntr, by Brother Industries, was installed on the computer by the printer. Please explain exactly how this ‘application’ can be ‘closed’ for Nitro Pro installation. I presume it will not be necessary to uninstall the printer. Graham Jupp
Reymund The 64bit download link you gave is identical to the one I used previously. However, I did use your link to download but the result was the same – the program activation stopped at the stage as I described in my post and required the ‘closure’ of the file CrCtrlCntr which is located in ProgramFiles (x86), folder: ControlCenter4. So - what is the answer to this problem please? Perhaps I should mention that my printer is also a scanner as this may be pertinent?
Official Nitronaut Reymund Oyong Posted July 6 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted July 6 (edited) Hi @Graham Jupp Please check for the BrCtrlCntr.exe process running on your machine through the Task Manager. Try to temporarily kill this process before installing Nitro PDF Pro. I have outlined the steps below for your reference: 1. To kill the BrCtrlCntr.exe in Task Manager, please follow the steps below: a. On your computer using Windows search, search for Task Manager and open it. b. From the Task Manager window, go to the Processes tab. c. Look for BrCtrlCntr.exe, right-click it, and select End task. 2. Proceed with Nitro Pro installation by running the MSI installer. 3. Once Nitro Pro is installed, please restart your computer. 4. Activate Nitro Pro by going to the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activate. Enter your serial number then click on Activate.
