Ron Sherson Posted April 18 Report Posted April 18 I cannot create PDFs from any Outlook emails on my Windows 11 laptop. My desktop PC is running Windows 10 and that creates PDFs from Oulook just fine. Are there any known issues with Window 11, or is there a fix?
Official Nitronaut Reymund Oyong Posted May 3 Official Nitronaut Report Posted May 3 Greetings @Ron Sherson Thank you for reaching out through our Community Forums! Could you please confirm if you are using the Nitro PDF Pro Outlook add-in to convert emails to PDF? If so, are you experiencing the same issue when converting files to PDF using other Office add-ins, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Nitro add-ins? Also, if you print the email using the 'Nitro PDF Creator' printer, does it proceed with the print process and convert it to PDF? Here are the steps: 1. In Outlook, select the email by clicking on it. 2. Go to File and select Print. 3. select Nitro PDF Creator or Microsoft Print to PDF in the Printer selection. 4. Click Print. This will prompt you to save the file in PDF format. Kind regards,
Ron Sherson Posted May 3 Author Report Posted May 3 Thanks for responding. On my Acer Laptop running Windows 11, in Outlook I can do as you have suggested. I had previously been able to select an email, not open it, right click and select the 'Create PDF from email' in the drop down list and create the PDF. That option does not work now, and I stumbled on the 'Print to PDF' option just recently which works but just adds extra steps and time as I'm creating quite a lot of documents. Curiously I have now updated to Windows 11 on my desktop PC which stills allows me to create a PDF from the email via the drop down list option. Any insights? Thanks, Ron
Official Nitronaut Reymund Oyong Posted May 30 Official Nitronaut Report Posted May 30 Greetings @Ron Sherson Here's an update that may fix this issue: The Office plugins depend on the correct file association being set up for the files being converted. In this case, the .msg files should be associated with Outlook.exe. If this is the cause of the issue of not being able to convert an Outlook email to PDF, please try the following, and see if this resolves the issue: 1. Using Windows Search, search for Settings and access it. 2. Click Apps, then select Default Apps. 3. Select Choose Default apps by file type. 4. Look for .msg and configure it to open using the Outlook app. Kind regards,
Ron Sherson Posted May 31 Author Report Posted May 31 Thank you so much Reymund, I employed the update you provided, and I can now create pdf's from emails again. You're a champion.
