Steven Welch
I have an unexpired term 1 year license for Nitro 14 (that includes Nitro Sign), which I have been using on my regular laptop. I have a second laptop that I use in certain circumstances and would like to use Nitro on both. Do I need to purchase a 2nd license? If so, can I convert the existing license without losing whatever time I have remaining on it?
Official Nitronaut Joseph Capiral Posted May 2 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted May 2 (edited) Hi @Steven Welch Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums I understand you want to know if you need to get an additional license for Nitro Pro, as you will use Nitro on a second laptop. Can you please confirm what email address you used to get the Yearly Nitro Pro subscription so I can confirm? But to answer your question, if you have a Nitro Pro subscription, you should be able to use Nitro Pro on a second device without getting an additional license. You can install Nitro PDF Pro and activate it by logging in to your Nitro Account without affecting the main laptop that you are using. To activate Nitro, please download and install this version: https://www.gonitro.com/installers/nls/v14/msi/download Once installed, it will ask you to log in to your Nitro Account to activate. For reference, you can use our guide on activating Nitro PDF Pro, found here: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/nls/000006503 Thank you. Steven Welch
Joseph, thank you for your reply. I need to clarify. I purchased the licensed product originally, which I have upgraded almost every year, when the new version came out. A couple of years ago, I got access to NitroSign. When I log into the cloud, it shows "Premium Plan (Promo)" up in the top right corner. Just so it's crystal clear, I have not yet purchased the annual subscription. I did upgrade to 14 last year but haven't yet "converted" to the new subscription offer. That's really the core question I have -- whether converting over to the subscription will permit me to use the app on more than one laptop. You may have already addressed my question, however. If I can simply convert to the new yearly subscription without losing any time I currently have on my purchase of the 14 upgrade, then I will just do it. I am running a 2 week trial on the second laptop now hoping that I can make the best decision before the trial expires. Anyhow, if you can give me any guidance, I would appreciate it. Here are the details for the 14 upgrade I purchased last year: I used steve@welchcounsel.com to register the license. The invoice details follow: Reference number: 401**** Invoice date: **** Invoice number: BKD-73**** Edited May 2 by Joseph Capiral masking the details
Official Nitronaut Joseph Capiral Posted May 2 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted May 2 Hi @Steven Welch Thank you for the clarification and for providing more details. I checked the license for the reference number 40101****, and I can see that it's a perpetual license. Please be aware that for your perpetual license, you should be able to activate up to 2 instances of Nitro PDF Pro 14, so using Nitro PDF Pro 14 on 2 different devices is possible without getting an additional license. At the moment, your serial uses 2 out of 2 activations, and in case you need to manage or deactivate a license, you can go to our portal here: https://licenses.gonitro.com/prd/portal Thank you. Steven Welch
That clears it up. I will deactivate the license and re-activate on the 2nd laptop and then, when I am back at my desk at home, I will try to activate it on that machine as well. Thank you so very much for your kind assistance. I do have one follow up. Is there any benefit for me to "convert" to the subscription?
Official Nitronaut Joseph Capiral Posted May 2 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted May 2 Hi @Steven Welch You're welcome. Sounds good, if in case you have any other questions or concern feel free to reply this thread or submit a ticket at https://www.gonitro.com/support/ticket For Windows experience, there's not much of a benefit that you can get if you get a subscription but if you are using a Mac device, you should be able to install Nitro PDF Pro for Mac and IOS as it is also included when you get a subscription. Thank you.
