How to Enable Paswwod Protection for a PDF being sent by email

Recommended Posts

Nitro Pro (11.0.3.134) x64 Version. Cannot not open either "Password Security" nor "Certificate Security" (Drag curser over these & they are disabled within the "Protect" drop-down bar). I want to password protect a PDF document before I send it as an attachment to an email. How do I do this?

Those options should be available in every document that doesn't already have protections on it, so if your document has no restrictions on it, there may be an issue with your copy of Nitro 11.

Once you've checked File, Document Properties, Security, and confirmed there's no protections on the document, you'll want to upgrade to 11.0.3.174 (https://www.gonitro.com/support/downloads ) which addresses security issues among other things.  Installing that might fix the issue for you- if not, do a repair ( http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/repair/000001641).

If after all of that, things are still not working how they are supposed to, please file a support ticket: https://www.gonitro.com/support/ticket
