jdehope Posted February 7, 2018 Report Posted February 7, 2018 After attempting in uninstall and reinstall Nitro Pro, running the installer results in it only asking if I would like to uninstall. The application is no longer on my computer, but the installer will not install the program. Attempting to install Nitro Pro v. 9 was successful, but there was no option to update from version 9 to 11 within the application. Any ideas?
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted February 7, 2018 Official Nitronaut Report Posted February 7, 2018 Hello @jdehope, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! To fix this issue, clear the content of the directory under C:\users\your_username\Appdata\local\temp. For whatever reason, not all temp files automatically remove themselves and is NOT usually caused by Nitro Pro files. Then use the tool I have provided below to remove all files associated with Nitro Pro and reboot your system: http://install.nitropdf.com/support/downloads/cleanup.zip NOTE: This clean-up tool will erase any existing signature files within Nitro so please save them to another location before using the clean-up tool in order to keep them. Please see this link for backing up custom stamps/signatures: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/stamps/000001686 After you backed-up your files, kindly clear the downloads folder, delete all downloaded Nitro installers and try reinstalling again. This step is important because we noticed that if you are saving all the installers you download in the same folder (like the Downloads folder) the EXE can pick up any MSI installed in that folder, and may pick-up one of the older builds instead of the new one. Please use the updated installers for Nitro Pro 11.0.7.425 here: 64-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1107425/retail/nitro_pro11.exe 32-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1107425/retail/nitro_pro11.exe If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000001874 After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activation and entering your serial number. Hope this helps!
jdehope Posted February 7, 2018 Author Report Posted February 7, 2018 The tool you have provided does not seem to run properly. The Command Prompt window opens very briefly then closes automatically, seemingly without anything running. After following the other steps, I was still unsuccessful which leads me to believe there is something I am missing using the clean-up tool you provided. Thank you for your help so far!
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted February 7, 2018 Official Nitronaut Report Posted February 7, 2018 Hello @jdehope, Thanks for your patience. That's the normal behavior of our Clean-up Tool. For your reference, you can visit this article: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/clean/000003054 You can verify if Nitro Pro is still installed by going to Control Panel > Programs and Feature. If you can't find one, that is great! Now manually check for left over registries from Nitro Pro (Run > regedit) and delete them. Make sure to save a backup before making any change. Reboot the machine again after deleting Nitro Pro traces. After rebooting, try installing again. Good luck!
jdehope Posted February 7, 2018 Author Report Posted February 7, 2018 Unfortunately still unsuccessful despite Nitro Pro being absent from "Programs and Feature" and searching and manually deleting Temp files.
Edward Van Hal Posted February 8, 2018 Report Posted February 8, 2018 Having a related issue. The update for my newly purchased Nitro 11 in January worked in my desktop but I receive a download message 99%, the Nitro Setup wizard has failed. Tried a couple times. No luck. What can I do? I have a notebook with I5 chip Windows 10.
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted February 8, 2018 Official Nitronaut Report Posted February 8, 2018 Hello @eddiev, If you see Nitro Pro listed in Control Panel > Programs & Features, kindly run our Clean-up tool to uninstalling your previous install by referring to this article: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/clean/000003054 Check for left-over registries from Nitro Pro (Run > regedit) and delete them. Make sure to save a backup before making any change. Reboot the machine again after deleting Nitro Pro traces. Then reboot your machine. After reboot your machine, try installing using our MSI Offline installers for Nitro Pro 11.0.7.425:64-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1107425/retail/nitro_pro11.exe32-bit: http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1107425/retail/nitro_pro11.exe Good luck!
jdehope Posted February 8, 2018 Author Report Posted February 8, 2018 Still unable to Install update. Again, Program is NOT listed in the Control Panel, I have run the Clean-up tool, and have checked for any Temp files.
