Flatten document not an option

I'm working on a PDF form created by another company, and when I go to erase text and images, a pop-up box appears saying I need to SAVE AS a FLATTENED DOCUMENT, but when I go to SAVE AS, that option does not appear.  I don't believe there are any security restrictions with the document since the form is intended for public use.  Help!

Thanks for using the Community to reach out to us. 

You can save a document as a flattened PDF by selecting File >> Save As >> selecting the dropdown menu and changing the option to "Flattened PDF".

Please let me know if you are able to erase text and images after flattening the PDF.

The dropdown menu does not have Flattened PDF available.  That's the problem.  So the document cannot be altered?

There's a workaround, but it's not as elegant as the Flatten PDF option.  You can re-print the PDF to a new PDF with the Nitro PDF printer, and that might give you a flat PDF.  To try this, go to File, Print, and choose the Nitro 11 PDF printer.
