Re-installing NitroPro v8

I've had to re-install Win7 on my PC.

In trying to use the CD I received with my purchase of Nitro Pro in 2013 (opening the file nitro_pro8_x64), I'm getting an error message "Decoding error = 1"

I've tried going directly to Support for help with activation, but in entering the 8-digit serial number printed on the CD, I get another error, "licenses.gonitro.com says Please enter a valid serial number."

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nancy

Hi @Nancy Vaillancourt,

Thanks for posting on our Community Forums!

I need to let you know that we no longer support Nitro Pro 8.

It has been discontinued as documented in our Sunset Policy: https://www.gonitro.com/support/sunset-policy#sunsetPolicy

If you would like to trial our latest product, Nitro Pro 12, you can download it from here: https://www.gonitro.com/pro/try

It will run as a full featured product for 14 days! After that, if you choose not to purchase it, you can still use it as a PDF reader.

Alternatively, if you prefer to keep using Nitro Pro 8, instead of the CD, I recommend that you download the latest version 8 from here:

http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/retail/000001632

If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/32/000001874

After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activation and enter your serial number

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

Kevin, I chose to continue using Nitro Pro 8 as it is a great product and meets my limited editing needs. Your instructions worked perfectly - Thanks!
