When I open a pdf file it acts like it is opening, but it only is an icon in the toolbar.  Will not open full screen.

Hello,

I'm getting the same error described in this topic, the solution above didn't work for me. It just happened now, it was working fine so far.

I already have uninstalled then installed it again and it does not work anymore, but I still can see the file opened in the miniature at task bar, but I can't get the full screen.

Please help.

Windows 10 Pro 64

Hello @Luis Carlos VLN,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums!

Kindly run Nitro Pro with Compatibility mode by referring to these steps:
1. Right-click Nitro Pro desktop shortcut or the NitroPDF.exe (by default is installed in C:\Program Files\Nitro\Pro X) then select Properties
2. Nitro Pro Properties window will open, click on Compatibility tab3. Under Compatibility Mode, tick the box for 'Run this program in compatibility mode for', click the drop-down arrow and select Windows 7 if you're using Windows 10 (Choose Windows XP if you're using Windows 7)

If that didn't help and in order for me to further assist you, could you please provide me with the following?:
-Any changes you're aware of before this happened like installing Windows updates on your machine?
-You mentioned you installed the latest build of Nitro Pro 11. I just want to make sure so is it 11.0.8.470? You can find this out by clicking on 'About Nitro Pro' under the Help tab

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

I am running version 12.  Neither of the fixes help.

If anyone is still looking for a solution, this might be worth a try.... writing from my own experience of solving this issue

Pretext :

Been using nitro pdf for a long time yet never suffered any freezing/ crashing. I happened to stumble on this problem when i used dual displays and set nitro pdf running (full screen mode)on the second display, while primary display was my laptop monitor itself. After completing my work i just put my laptop to hibernation and removed the hdmi cable to the secondary display. I have a strong suspicion that this has what led to the issue mentioned above. As i open a pdf file it seems like opening and Nitro icon appear in the task bar as if it has completed opening yet i cant find anything on the screen.

Solution :

1. Open nitro pdf,

2. Open any other program , say an internet browser and click and drag & snap it to one side of the screen as if you want to run 2 programs at the same time

3. Now once the browser snaps to the first half of the screen , you will be prompted to select to other program to run on the other half of the screen

4. Find nitro pdf window and click on it, it will be opened & snapped to the other half of the screen

5. If you can see the nitro pdf window then your problem is pretty much solved and you can run it full screen/ or normal window.

Sorry if i elaborated too much, Hope this helps.

Cheers
