DanielR
I received an advertisement from Nitro asking me to upgrade to Nitro 12. It included a button I thought was to obtain more information but instead it automatically installed the trail version of Nitro 12 Pro. Now that the trial period is finished, I have no means to restore the Nitro 11 Pro version that I own. Furthermore, when I tried to uninstall the Nitro 12 version so I could reinstall Nitro 11, I received an error message that indicates I cannot complete the uninstall. Can anyone help[? I got a similar message after trying to reinstall Nitro 11 after replacing my hard drive. I was finally able to reinstall after deleting Word and Excel and then adding them after Nitro was installed once again. Do I need to do that again to uninstall the trial version of Nitro 12? Has anyone else had a similar problem?
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted November 20, 2018 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted November 20, 2018 Hello @DanielR, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! Could you please confirm you were able to install Nitro Pro 11 with Nitro Pro 12 trial on the new hard drive? I just want to understand the current situation because we cannot install Nitro Pro 11 and 12 on the same machine. Nitro Pro 12 will automatically uninstall Nitro Pro 11. Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
DanielR
I was able to install Nitro 11 Pro on my new hard drive only after uninstalling Word and Excel, something I discovered by accident after repeated failed attempts to install Nitro 11. . Subsequent to that I received the advertisement from Nitro 12 to update. When I clicked for more information, it installed Nitro 12 Trial edition which I am now unable to uninstall. I am planning to reinstall Nitro 11 if I do not continue to get the previous installation error but I have not tried uninstalling Word and Excel again. I felt deceived by Nitro's advertisement. What I want to do is get rid of the trial edition and reinstall Nitro 11 Pro for which I have a license.
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted November 21, 2018 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted November 21, 2018 Hello @DanielR, Thanks for your response and my apologies for the inconvenience. Kindly run MS FixIt from Microsoft to uninstall Nitro Pro 12 from your machine:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed After that, reboot your machine and when it is up, open Windows Explorer > Drive C:/Program Files folder. Make sure there is no Nitro Pro folder. Then reinstall Nitro Pro 11.0.8.470, the latest build for this version using below offline installers: x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1108470/en/burn/nitro_pro11_ba_x64.msi x32 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_1108470/en/burn/nitro_pro11_ba_x86.msi If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000001874 After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activation and entering your Nitro Pro 11 serial number. Thanks for choosing Nitro Pro and I hope this helps!
