OCR does not seem to work at all

Trying to convert a scanned PDF to editable doc(x) or txt.

For .docx, Nitro Pro seems to create a docx doc with just an image for each page of the original.

For txt, it seems to almost get it, but introduces spaces between every character, like so:

(a)   T h e d e v e l o p m e n t  o f a r e al i s t i c  a n d  c o n v e n ti o n a lly s t r u c t u r e d n o v e l.
(b)   T h e e l a b o r a t i o n o f a n e x p l i c i t  c h a r a c t e r o l o g y ,  w e d d e d t o a c o n c e p t  o f t h e d y n a m ic s o f h u m a n b e h a v i o r . .
(c)   T h e a r t i c u l a t i o n  o f th e d r a m a o f " e m e r g e n c e "  o f p e r s o n a l i t y in h u m a n  r e l a t i o n s ,  a n d in r e l a t i o n t o th e a t t u n e d o b s e r v e r .
(d)   T h e e m b r a c i n g  o f a s a t i s f a c t o r y  p h i l o s o p h i c  s u b s t i t u t e f o r th e

The PDF document can be converted (very nicely) with other OCR solutions (Free Online OCR and SmartOCR) - so it can't be a problem with the input.

Am I missing a setting - or just expecting too much?

Thanks

If you are using the OCR in Nitro, you probably want the Searchable & Editable option instead of the Searchable option.

Also, all the available options for OCR are under File, Preferences, Conversion.

If you aren't on the latest version of Nitro for your version, it's worth updating to the latest update and trying again (check here for the download links: https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/downloads ).

Has the trial version been updated with this fix to OCR?

I would like to try it again. I tried the v12 in early March and the OCR was broken. It was very poor in comparison to the current version that I have - Nitro Pro 7.5.

I would like to try it again if this is fixed, but the "trial period" is now expired and I can't reset it. Is there a way to give it another try?
