Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted January 15, 2019 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted January 15, 2019 Hello @wiggins.w, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums! Before continuing, I should let you know that we no longer support Nitro Pro 10 or older. It has been discontinued as documented in our Sunset Policy: https://www.gonitro.com/support/sunset-policy As a courtesy, let us try some troubleshooting by referring to these steps: 1. Clear the content of the directory under C:\users\your_username\Appdata\local\temp. For whatever reason, not all temp files automatically remove themselves and is NOT usually caused by Nitro Pro files. 2. Run MS FixIt to delete traces of previous Nitro Pro installations: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed 3. Reboot your machine. 4. Please clear all your downloads folder or delete all downloaded Nitro installers. This step is important because we noticed that if you are saving all the installers and you download them in the same folder (like the downloads folder), the EXE can pick up any MSI installed in that folder and you may pick-up one of the older builds instead of the newly downloaded package. 5. Download and install Nitro Pro 10.5.9.14 using below offline installers: x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_105914/en/burn/nitro_pro10_ba_x64.msi x32 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_105914/en/burn/nitro_pro10_ba_x86.msi If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000001874 6. After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activation and entering your serial number. Alternatively, you can trial our latest product, Nitro Pro 12, you can download it from here: https://www.gonitro.com/pro/try It will run as a full featured product for 14 days! After that, if you choose not to purchase it, you can still use it as a PDF reader. You can learn all about some of the features here: https://www.gonitro.com/resources/videos Thanks for choosing Nitro Pro and I hope this helps! wiggins.w
Thank you @AllainU, The steps above weren't effective. However, we may have found a fix based on a single test. The editing of permission in the WinApp folder was not enough. Turns out my manager pinpointed that the installer was being denied executing 'WINWORD.exe'. We assume it's a change in Windows 10, and he noted that it seems to only happen in Nitro 10 (we also use 8 & 7 without much issue). Once we gave permission to execute that it seems to have worked from there. If you would like I can provide an update once I confirm on a second machine.
