Converted Word Documents Cannot be Edited

Hi, I bought Nitro PDF for mainly one reason; to convert PDF docs to Word and then cut and paste the text in those documents.  I never had a problem with Acrobat with this simple function.  I cannot do so with Nitro PDF.  If I move the cursor, it moves the entire page as if the document is still in PDF.    My computer is brand new with Office 165 and running Windows 10, v. 1803, 64 bit.   Please assist asap.
