File size does not reduce after deleting pages

Hi, I've got a large file I need to break up into smaller pieces then upload to a website. I've been deleting the pages I don't need then saving as a new file name but file size remains the same as the original document. Am I missing a step?

I have this same problem.  I have a document that is 170 MB, almost 1000 pages.  When I delete half the pages and save, the size goes up slightly.  Are the pages not being deleted?  How do I actually delete pages from the document, not just hide them?  This happens with both halves of the document as well.

This issue is usually file-specific.

You can provide us with the version you are using and a copy of the file so we can have a look.

I'm using version 12.14.0.558.  The file was 73 pages, and I deleted pages 3-73.  I don't have any way of attaching the file.

Hi,

 

Same problem : when I modify a file (delet some pages) and I save the files , the size is the same as original

When I do "save as" whith a new name, the size decrease !

For exemeple in a case th size is 8000 ko in the other case the size is 734 ko ...

It looks like if the file keep "in memory" the deleted pages.

Even when I Save As... with a different name, my files stay the same size.
