garias12
Recently upgraded to nitro 10 to nitro 12 and whenever I open up a pdf document, the page opens up with the "hand" icon in the top left corner and the edit button won't even work. It won't even let me edit or add text either. These icons appear to be greyed out and won't even work. Please help me fix this for a co-worker. I also don't have the serial number so do not ask for that if you reply. Just reply with some actual troubleshooting tips, please. I am desperate. garias12
I can't give out the file since I work for a company so I can't give out files from the business. What can I do on my own to troubleshoot? I made sure nitro is my default pdf reader and haven't had this problem with nitro 10. Maybe since her nitro 10 was linked to a cloud account, that could play into the problem? Nitro 12 doesn't even have a log in button either so I don't know. Please let me know about this. I can open up pdf files, but I can't edit or copy and paste. If there is a customer service number please link me to that since I need to fix this soon. That would really help since my co-worker relies on this to do her job.
Official Nitronaut Leslie V Posted April 17, 2019 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted April 17, 2019 Hello @garias12, Screenshots of what you are seeing and your exact step by step procedure (including what you click, and what settings you choose) will be helpful. Also, you can check if a file is locked by opening the file in Nitro. Right-click on any page of the PDF then select Document Properties. In the Security tab, you will see what are and are not allowed: I hope that helps!

garias12
Believe I found the issue. So you cant edit electronically signed documents correct? A turnaround would be to save a copy of the file and edit from there.
