Nitro Pro stopped working: Bad parameter, cannot open files created with Nitro Pro

Today, Apr 30, Nitro Pro version 11.0.3.134 stopped working. Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit, 32GB Ram.

  • cannot open files created with Nitro Pro (in either Acrobat or Nitro), see error message/s
  • all tools return error "Bad parameter"
  • check for updates says software is up to date
  • no "repair" option per Nitro knowledge base
  • Nitro reports wrong Windows version

I tried again this morning without downloading and reinstalling, and now it's working. I've seen a number of references in this forum that "... this happened both times on the night of the last day of the month" and yesterday (when it didn't work) was the last day of April. If I invest time to download, uninstall and reinstall your product are you saying it will fix this issue?
