Exporting the text of line measurement

Marting

Suggestion

At the yellow button on the left side "View all texts, drawing, stamps, and attachment markups in this document" there I would like to have a button for exporting the text-contents of the popups after drawing lines, to a text file (.txt). Plus in Preferences choosing a default map for the output file.

You can do it currently, but the results are more geared towards importing the comments back into a file.

In my copy of Nitro 12, there's a Migrate button in the Comments section.

Click that, and then in the screen that pops up, choose XFDF from the "Save as Type" box (the default is FDF).

This is the same file format you'd get if you exported form data from a PDF with form fields.

You can re-import these comments using that file.

The file itself does have the text in there, but you'll have to process out the markup.

I hope that helps a little.  Good luck!

Thank you, I have version 12 also. Then the improvement will be: Migrate to .txt as well (for the easy use) and in Preferences being able to select the default type and the default folder (one folder for all types).

Update: Now I spend more time on it and your reply can be used but it still can be made better, in this way:

Wanted: Getting the measured line info as fast as possible in another application.
Solution: At the same location where now the button Migrate is located, a button with only XFDF on it for migrating the XFDF-file. And the export-map and .XFDF-filename are choosen at the Measurement Preferences and the file overwrites as default.
This way it is only clicking the button after a measure and the other application can pick it up at a fixed location and filename. You may call it a semi-dynamic link. A dynamic link would show the measured line into the other application.
I hope it can be added in a new version.

Lately I have made a workaround, am able to save the XFDF-file with Javascript, but the Javascript has to be added to each new document and the Save-button has to be used after a measure. Migrating to a txt-file is not necessary anymore, as suggested in the initial post.

Completing the semi-dynamic link can be done by adding a checkbox in Measurement Preferences in combination with the export map and filename:
Save the XFDF-file automatically after a measurement has finished.

This way the user does not have to click the XFDF-button anymore. Plus the screen layout may be kept the way it is with this checkbox at Measurement Preferences, although anyway the XFDF-button on the screen is better I think.

Nitro Pro may then be advertised as having a semi-dynamic link.
