I have nitro 12.  an trying to upgrade to the latest build.  how do i do that?  I go to this link:  https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/downloads   that seems to be the link to download the latest version.  I close Nitro 12.  Click the link.  I get error message Nitro Pro Setup Wizard Has Failed.

How to fix this and upgrade to latest build?

No.  First of all, that link refers to a problem in Nitro 11 that was supposedly fixed in Nitro 12.  Second of all, that link ocntains a lengthy confusing list of instrucdtions which include turning off security protections which I assume are there for a good reason.  No other software I have ever had required such a convoluted procedure to install.  And I have the program installed, I am only trying to upgrade the build to see if new build resolves the issue of OCRing modifying a page image.   There must be some way to  install (or reinstall) NitroPro 12 without having to resort to exotic command line commands.  And from your answer it is not clear to me if this is a known issue.  IN other words, I may spend a lot of time trying these steps, only to find they do not work.  NitroPro has, in the past, been a great product.  But to work there needs to be some reasonable way to install it.

Is there no other guidance?  there is no standard way to reinstall (or, apparently, install for the first time) Nitro 12?  I have now tried with a seperate PC.  Same issue wizard fails.  Is this something that will be fixed?

No other guidance?  The KB article says that this problem does not exist in Nitro 12.  Will the fix you suggest actually work with Nitro 12?  And I do not appear to have a Windows Apps folder (hidden or otherwise), so presumably the fix you suggest, which seems to involve eliminating some of the security on the windows apps folder, will not work.  I do not believe that I have ever bought anything from the Windows store

And did the fix to OCR in the most recent update to to Nitro 12 (per the change log) address the issue of the OCR function changing the appearance of the document.  The only reason I am trying to upgrade to the newest build fo Nitro 12 is to fix that issue.  If the fix does not address that issue I will stop trying to upgrade.  And hope that I never need to reinstall Nitro 12, because it appears that that cannot be done.

Thanks for any assistance that can be provided.  Hard to imagine that I am the only one having this issue with installing (or, in my case, reinstalling) Nitro 12

Hello @MB1,

Thanks for your response and my sincere apologies for this inconvenience.

To further assist you, did you check C:\Program Files folder and WindowsApps (hidden) is not there?

If you attempted to install using the installer from https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/downloads , I believe this is our online installer that requires Internet connection to complete. Could you please try installing using our offline installers below?:

x32 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12163574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x86.msi
x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12163574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x64.msi

If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: http://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000001874

After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activate and entering your serial number.

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

took me a bit to be able to try this.  I now have, and installation worked fine (and I did not need to reregister-as far as I can tell my updated version is still registered).  Not sure why the links you provided to install the latest version seem so hard to find (or why I wasn't given them initially).

Most importantly, Nitro seems  to have fixed the serious OCR bug that I raised a few weeks ago in this forum where OCRing would actually change he appearance of the document image.  That does not seem to be happening with the newest build.  My hope that that issue would be fixed is why I wanted to upgrade to the latest build.  Not sure why Nitro would not have wanted to more clearly announce that this bug has been fixed, but at least it has been addressed and I much appreciate it.

Hello @MB1,

Thank you for response and for letting us know that you were able to install the program using our offline installers.

My apologies if you were first given the online installer and please take note it is our marketing team who sends that after making a purchase.

But worries, your feedback is important to us that is why it will be forwarded to our management team.

With regard to OCR issue that has been addressed by installing the latest build, kindly bookmark our Release Notes link https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/release-notes and please check on it from time to time.

Thanks for choosing Nitro Pro!
