EJHCO
Hello, Win 10, Nitro Pro 12. After recent Win 10 upgrade to version 1903 Nitro Pro seems to crash the underlying program from which I am trying to print a document. For example, I use Quicken Home and Business, and before the Win 10 upgrade I could choose Nitro's printer to print a .pdf file (invoice) from within Quicken. Since the Win upgrade, when I select Nitro's printer, it freezes Quicken. When I finally shut Quicken down, the (Nitro?) Print window is sitting in the Task Bar. When I complete the printing process, it prints a blank document. I also tested this out using Word 365. When I open a Word doc and choose Nitro Pro as the printer (not using the Nitro Pro add-in for this test), Word freezes temporarily. Eventually the Word doc comes back to the screen. The Print window is in the Task Bar, and I am able to continue the print job because Word finally opened again. It prints the Word document in .pdf format flawlessly. Quicken is the program I use the most with the Nitro Printer. Quicken does have its own PDF printer which I use since this problem started. It prints to PDF without a problem. The Nitro PDF printer properties are as follows: Port: Nitro PDF Port: Description: Nitro PDF Local Port Printer: Nitro PDF Creator (Pro 12) What can I do to fix this issue, which I am convinced is due to the Win 10 upgrade? I've had several other problems created by the Win 10 upgrade, which were mostly resolved by doing a Windows Repair keeping the programs and data. However, this problem with Nitro PDF's printer was not resolved. Thanks for your help. EJH
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted August 13, 2019 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted August 13, 2019 Hello @EJHCO, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums and my apologies for this inconvenience. With the information you provided and for me to better assist you on troubleshooting this issue, let us try uninstalling and reinstalling your Nitro PDF Creator by following these steps: 1. Close your Nitro Pro and MS Office applications if they're open. 2. Right-click on the Nitro Pro desktop icon and select Run as Administrator. 3. Go to Help tab > Support Tools > PDF Creation tab and click Nitro PDF Creator button. If the tool is not found in Help tab, you will need to go to the installation folder of Nitro Pro and run NitroPDFSupportTools.exe (by default, it is inside C:\Program Files\Nitro\Pro X, where X is the version you have) 4. Installation will be done in the background. Once it's done, you should receive a message 'installation of the printer driver was successful’ 5. Click OK > Close. 6. Close your Nitro Pro and open it again to test. Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
EJHCO
Hello AllainU, Thanks so much for your troubleshooting steps. It worked. I tested it in my Quicken program, and although the screen turned black as it did when Quicken froze previously, it did not freeze, and Nitro Pro created the Quicken invoice in .pdf format with no issues. Thanks again for the fix. EJH
