To do this, you'd need to use some Javascript in the document to count the words.  You might be able to find some examples online, and get them to work with Nitro- I can't really recommend any.

There's no way like in Word to easily count the words currently.

  1. With your copied PDF text, use CTRL + V to paste the text into the Google Doc (or right click and select to Paste the text in). Then go to Tools > Word Count or hit CTRL + SHIFT + C.

Hello!
I have another way to know how many words in file.
In Microsoft Word the number of words in your document is displayed on the status bar at the bottom left of the workspace. To include text in footnotes, endnotes and text boxes in the word count: From the Review tab, in the Proofing group, click Word Count.
