TSJ
I am running a licensed copy of Nitro Pro 12. I got an email saying I could now download and install the Nitro Productivity Suite - Fall 2019 Presale version I had previously purchased. I have downloaded using the link in the email and from the download page. I get the same error when installing from either file. It appears I can't paste the image I saved of the error so here is the error I'm getting: Something is blocking Nitro from proceeding The file C:\Program Files\Nitro\Pro\13\NitroPDF.exe is being held in use by the following process: Name: NitroPDF, Id: , Window Title: 'Nitro Pro'. Close that application and retry. What do I need to do to get version 13 installed? FYI ... I have not uninstalled version 12. Tim
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted September 25, 2019 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted September 25, 2019 Hello @TSJ, Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums It seems to me that your Nitro Pro 12 is still running in the background and blocking the installation of your Nitro Pro 13. To further assist you, could you please restart your machine and try upgrading again? Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you. TSJ
Thanks @AllainU After rebooting I was able to install version 13. The install process did stop two times with a message saying something needed to be closed but clicking on the Continue button allowed the installation to continue. I needed to set the default App for .PDF files to Nitro Pro after the install completed. Do I need to make Nitro Pro the default App for any other file extensions? I'm still seeing a message on the forum saying my content needs to be approved by a moderator. What needs to happen for that to stop? Tim
Official Nitronaut Allain Umailin Posted September 25, 2019 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted September 25, 2019 Hello @TSJ, Thank you for your patience. Yes, every forum posts has to be reviewed before approving to hide sensitive information from public viewing. As best practice, we recommend setting your Nitro Pro as your default DPF viewer for .pdf formats. Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps!
