Upgrade path for existing customers to V13

I'm an established and satisfied user of Nitro Pro 12

Just checking the product downloads webpage today, I see that V13 is now available but I've not received any information on this new release. What is the upgrade path for existing customers?

Upon checking you account, I can see you do not have VIP Access (formerly Software Assurance) and I believe this is the reason why you did not receive any information about its release.

With regard to the upgrade path, any older versions can upgrade to Nitro Pro 13 by visiting our Upgrade Portal below and entering your Nitro Pro serial number:

I have checked your account and I can see you have Nitro Pro 12 without VIP Access.

With this information, you can only upgrade to Nitro Pro 13 with a discounted rate, not for free.

With regard to Product Updates, it include items like bug fixes, enhancements, and security updates. This is why we recommend that you are always running the current build of the software.  To find the latest the update for your particular version of Nitro Pro please visit this link: https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/downloads

With regards to Upgrading, it is when a newer version of Nitro Pro is purchased. An example would be upgrading from Nitro Pro 10 to Nitro Pro 11 (same with Nitro Pro 12 to Nitro Pro 13).

Hi, I purchased Nitro Productivity Suite Dec 5, 2018 on Invoice number AKD-736xxxxxx49 with Nitro VIP Access.

So I think I am entitled to Nitro Pro 13, am I or is the update vs upgrade an ethically questionable  business practice?

HI,

It should not be this difficult!

The previous post helped in that I got an upgrade license following the link and instructions. During the upgrade the Chat assistance offered failed.

Nitro 13 fails to install. Tried installing it with 12 installed, tried installing after uninstalling 12 and restarting PC. Still failed.

I reinstalled 12 and it was still activated. Will have a search of the community forum but out of time for today.

Part way there...
