how to use software assurance for upgrade

I have Nitro Pro 10, purchased less than a year ago.  I also got the software assurance and should be eligible for a free upgrade to v.11 but the online serial number checker doesn't seem to know about the software assurance and only gives me an option to buy an upgrade.  How does this work, and how can I get my upgrade?
