Is there an update? Who should I believe?

Hello all,

First of all I want to say I absolutely LOVE Nitro Pro.  In my opinion it is far superior to Adobe Acrobat.  So I've got Nitro Pro 11.0.3.173.  I've recently install Glary utilities which has a software update program with it.  It pulls the information that Nitro Pro has an update available which is version 13.13.2.242.  Glary refers to Filepuma.com to download the update.  So I go into Nitro Pro and check for updates and it says I have the latest version.  The website, and link, isn't suspicious according to virustotal.com.

So who should I believe?  Am I limited to this version because I only paid for a certain version?  Or did Glary find an actual update I could benefit from?

I'm always one to put the greatest trust in the manufacturer, so what's the thoughts from everyone?  Thanks.

Hello @UncleCarl,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums!

Before continuing, please be aware that Nitro Pro 11 or older are already discontinued as documented in our Sunset Policy: https://www.gonitro.com/support/sunset-policy . With that, support for the discontinued versions are no longer available.

If you are interested in upgrading your license to Nitro Pro 13 with a discounted rate, kindly access our Upgrade Portal and enter your Nitro Pro 11 serial number: https://www.gonitro.com/pro/upgrade

You may also want to purchase Nitro VIP Access (formerly Software Assurance) that entitles users to free upgrades for the next release of Nitro Pro and Premium Support for one year after the purchase date. (Premium Support is prioritized ticket support with our Technical Support staff/Nitro Customer Success and Service Team for one year after the purchase date).

However if you prefer working with an older version and as a courtesy, please download and install Nitro Pro 11.0.8 installers from this page:  https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/online/000004464

If you are not sure which to pick, this will help:  https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000003790

With regard to your Glarysoft Software Update, it's a patching software that scans computers and will push out updates to computers and the software therein it finds that need updating. If you have such software installed, Nitro Pro could be listed there to keep it updated and we do not recommend using it.

Another patching software we have encountered are:
-GFI LanGuard
-F-Secure

Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps!

Hello @Carl Tilman,

Thank you for the private message and I trust you are doing fine today.

Please note that we no longer support Nitro Pro 11 and its activation servers have been shut down which is why you are having issues activating.

We recommend upgrading to our latest version, Nitro PDF Pro 13, which comes with significant stability and security improvements, as well as many feature enhancements, in particular in conversion and OCR functions. To upgrade to Nitro PDF Pro 13 at a discounted rate, please visit our Upgrade page https://www.gonitro.com/pro/upgrade

Alternatively, you can upgrade to the latest build of Nitro Pro 12. Per our Sunset Policy, https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/sunset-policy , we have stopped making feature enhancements to version 12 once we released version 13.

You can find the Nitro Pro 12.16.9.574 installer on this page and activate it with your current Nitro Pro serial number 234600-xxxxxx-388119:
https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/downloads

If you are getting the 'Nitro Pro Wizard has failed' message using our .exe package, it is because it requires a stable Internet connection to download installation files so please use offline English MSI packages instead:

x32 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12169574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x86.msi
x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12169574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x64.msi

To know if you have 32-bit or 64-bit, please refer to this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/15056/windows-32-64-bit-faq

Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps.
