Hello @123456789,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums and sincere apologies for this incovenience.

Did the affected machine installed a major Windows Update prior to this issue?

If this is not the case, we also had similar cases where a Shavlik program is the culprit. It's a patching software that scans computers and will push-out updates to computers and the software therein it finds that need updating. If you have such software installed, Nitro Pro could be listed there to keep it updated without you noticing.

Below are patching softwares we have encountered so far as culprits:
-GFI LanGuard
-F-Secure
-Glarysoft Software Update

Do you have any of the above installed on your machine?

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hello @AllainU,

I’m not sure. I had just regular windows updates. Don’t know how major they were... And I don’t have such a software installed on my machine.

Thank you!

Hello @123456789,

Thank you for this information.

It is possible a major Windows Update was installed. If this is true, kindly note upon the upgrade of the operating system or installing a major Microsoft update, the Computer ID is changed, as it is comprised partially by the operating system. Once changed, this will no longer recognize the original installation causing the program to revert to trial mode.

To fix this issue, I just made an adjustment on your license, so you can now activate your copy of Nitro Pro by going to Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activate, entering your serial number and clicking Activate.

Please be aware that the issue of license reverting to 'Trial Expired' when a major Windows Updates was installed and generating null-id (Computer ID of all '0's) has been fixed in version 13. In addition to that and many other feature improvements, version 13 also contains some important security vulnerabilities fixes that you might want to consider when deciding whether to upgrade to it or not. You can find out more about these fixes here:  https://www.gonitro.com/nps/security/updates

If you are interested in upgrading your license to Nitro Pro 13 with a discounted rate, kindly access our Upgrade Portal and enter your Nitro Pro 12 serial number: https://www.gonitro.com/pro/upgrade

Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps!
