Compatibility with pdf documents created in Adobe

Hi,

I have an Adobe product but considering a switch. I download Nitro trial version to look at its functionality. In doing so I wanted to see how it would work with some document templates that we had created in Adobe LifeCycle Designer v.11. When I opened these in Nitro they were unreadable, I guess due to some compatibility issue (I'm a tech dinosaur). When this has happened previously on other devices we've just downloaded a relevant font pack through Adobe. Would this issue be ironed out with Nitro too?
