Rob Ripp 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2020 (edited) I am running NitroPro 12.0.0.112 on a new Win 10 Pro 64-bit machine I just purchased (and did a clean OS install). I am unable to save a .PDF file to a directory that syncs to OneDrive. When I attempt to do so, I get the error "The document c:\___ cannot be saved because you don't have permission to write to this file. I am an administrator on this account. I am able to save my file to my desktop, which does not sync to OneDrive. I do not have this problem with any other file types or apps. I have contacted Microsoft Support about it and confirm it is not a OneDrive error. This was working fine on my old machine. I have done the following to no avail: Uninstalled and reinstalled the app Checked for updates. I think I am running the latest version of Nitro Pro 12 Installed the latest Win10 updates Perhaps something must have happened during a recent product release? Please let me know what I can do to fix. Thanks! Edited June 20, 2020 by Rob Ripp
Rob Ripp 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2020 I solved this problem. Windows Defender in Windows 10 has a feature called Controlled Folder Access. It was not allowing NitroPDF to write to folders it was protecting. To fix it, you can either turn off Controlled Folder access or allow specific programs to access it. I allowed NitroPDF to access it and it solved my problem. To make changes: Open Windows Defender Security Center Click Virus & threat protection Click Virus & threat protection settings Scroll down to Controlled folder access Turn off or add to whitelist You can see more detailed instructions here. Hope this helps! Rob
