Alden Reynoso
Every time I close out of Nitro, it restarts. Every. Single. Time. The only way I've found to make it stop is to disable autorecovery, which means I am not able to get full use of the features I am paying for. Is there another work-around? Official Nitronaut Reymund G. Posted July 11, 2020 Official Nitronaut Report Share Posted July 11, 2020 Hello @Alden Reynoso, I recommend to perform a clean uninstall using our cleanup tool then install the latest build of Nitro Pro 12 which is 12.16. I have outlined the steps below for quick reference: 1. Clear the content of the directory under C:\users\your_username\Appdata\local\temp. For whatever reason, not all temp files automatically remove themselves and is NOT usually caused by Nitro Pro files. Note: AppData folder is hidden by default. You can access this by typing the above path and replacing the your_username to your user name. 2. Download Nitro cleanup tool from the link below:http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13192356/install-cleanup/install-cleanup.zip Please note that this cleanup tool will remove all traces of Nitro Pro including your customize stamps. If you have customized stamps, please refer to the link below about how to transfer/backup stamps:https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase/#/search/stamp/000004307 3. Extract the cleanup utility then run the cleanup tool by double-clicking nitro-cleanup.vbs. Please be aware that a command window will appear during the cleanup process. 4. After the cleanup, restart the computer. 5. Install Nitro Pro 12.16 by downloading a new installer from the link below. 32bit - http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12163574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x86.msi 64bit - http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12163574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x64.msi If you are not sure whether to download the 32bit or the 64bit, check the link below:https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase/#/search/bit/000003790 6. After installation, confirm that it is on 12.16. This can be found under Help tab > About Nitro Pro. 7. Once the build is confirmed, please check and see if it needs activation. If needed, you can activate it by clicking the Activate button then enter your Nitro Pro 12 serial number. After completing the steps above, please observe if the issue persists. Rodger Elgar
Assuming all these steps will even correct the problem, this seems like a lot of trouble to go to just to be able to close out of the program without having it restart again. I have version 13 of Nitro Pro and have been experiencing the same issue. I find that the program only auto restarts when I close it out by clicking the X in the upper right corner of the screen. If I close out by clicking on "File" and then "Exit" while in the program, or by using the universal Windows keyboard shortcut for closing a program (Alt-F4), it does not reopen.
