Can't deactivate Nitro Pro 11 to reactivate it

I had an issue with my laptop and the technical people restored it to factory status. I am trying to put in my activation code to reactivate it however, it tells me I must deactivate and then reactivte - the serial code is correct but when I try to deactivate it it will not do it - just says ) to deactivate - help please
