Jason Bolton Posted June 25 Report Share Posted June 25 When opening a file provided by a bank (genuine one) I receive the error message "The following global variables are missing" followed by a list starting with COLOR_ALTERNATE and ending with BRAND. At the bottom of the error message window there is an OK button. If you click on it, the message goes away and then returns. Clicking on each successive message OK button results in the same error message returning to the screen. Have to use Task Manager to End Task the Nitro program. The same file opens successfully in Acrobat Reader. Nitro Pro PDF works with all other PDF files. I have tried with Nitro PDF Pro version 13 and latest version 14 update. I have tried opening the file on different computers running version 13 and version 14 and they all exhibit the same fault. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Based on your description, it seems that the PDF file contains elements that can only be executed in Adobe. Have you tried opening this document in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge web browsers, as a test to see if you will get the same behavior? In addition, who is the Creator and Producer of the document? You can see this information in the document properties, File > Document Properties > Summary tab.
