Highlight Doesn't Always Work

I frequently use the highlight feature.  There are times when I highlight a full sentence but it may only capture 1 word, and sometimes it's the word in a sentence below my highlight.  I am not in the OCR mode.

Greetings @Sandra O'Guynn

Thank you for reaching out through our Community Forums!

Please note that the Highlight tool will only work on pure and editable text. Could you please confirm if the texts are editable and if the PDF file is not a scanned document?

If the file is a scanned document or an image and you want to highlight uneditable text, you can use the Shapes tool.

For your convenience, I have outlined the steps below:

1. Pick a highlight shape of your choice under the Review tab > Shapes.
2. Create a selection using the Shape tool. Example: Use the Rectangle shape to select the object you want to highlight.
3. Using the Select tool, right-click the shape and then go to its Properties. Under the Appearance tab, change the following:

Color to white
Fill color to yellow.
Thickness to 1
Opacity to 50%

4. Click Close to exit the Properties window.

Kind regards,

Thank you for the follow up.  95% of my documents are scanned, not true PDFs.  I have been using the shapes feature as you mentioned and will continue to do so.
