Now what!?!

It's been a couple months now of NitroPro13 freezes. I'm now using Windows10 save to pdf option, but still need to mark up & edit pdfs and it's A ROYAL PAIN. I have NitroPro 13.5.1.282, which isn't the latest release. So I downloaded update from Gonitro.com and got this message:

nitro_pro13.exe can't be downloaded securely

I'm using Chrome and Windows 10 home. Do I ignore the warning and install, or is it something to investigate and if so what should I do?

Hello @horo3,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums and our sincere apologies for your frustrations.

Instead of downloading our .EXE installer which still needs to download installation files during the whole installation process, please cancel that and clear all your downloads folder or delete all downloaded Nitro installers. This step is important because we noticed that if you are saving all the installers and you download them in the same folder (like the downloads folder), the EXE can pick up any MSI installer in that folder and you may pick-up one of the older builds instead of the newly downloaded package.

Then download and run our Clean Up utility to uninstall your Nitro Pro then reboot your machine:  http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13220414/install-cleanup/install-cleanup.zip

NOTE: This clean-up tool will erase any existing signature files within Nitro so please save them to another location before using the clean-up tool in order to keep them. Please see this link for backing up custom stamps/signatures:  https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/stamps/000004307

After rebooting, download and install Nitro Pro 13.22 using below offline installers:

x32 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13220414/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x86.msi
x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13220414/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x64.msi

If you are not sure which to pick, this will help: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/64/000003790

After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro Pro, clicking on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activate by entering your serial number.

Once installed, open your PDF files and check if the program is still freezing. If same issue persists, could you please provide the following information so we can further investigate?:

-Are you experiencing the lag when initially opening a document or does this apply subsequent documents once you've got one opened?
-Is there a certain format of document where you notice the lag or does this apply to all documents?
-Start Nitro while a machine is offline (or disconnected to the Internet)? Did it that make any difference?
-Without opening any PDF, does is still load slow?

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
