Hi, I have been using Nitro for almost 1 year now and very happy.  a little over a week ago, I started getting an error:

"The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and continue to get the same error. Any advice as to what the issue may be?  Other than standard Microsoft updates, nothing else has changed or been added to my computer software wise.

Thank you in anticipation of a resolution or guidance.

Hello Stephen,

Thank you for posting on our Community Forums!

Please remove all previously downloaded installers and then kindly use the tool I have provided below to remove all files associated with Nitro Pro and reboot your system.
https://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13353685/install-cleanup/install-cleanup.zip

NOTE: This clean-up tool will erase any existing signature files within Nitro, so please save them to another location before using the clean-up tool in order to keep them.

Please see this link for backing up custom stamps/signatures: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/stamps/000004307

When your system is back up, close all your open applications and install Nitro Pro 13.35.3.685 from the page I have provided below:
https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/downloads

After installation, you can activate by opening Nitro, click on the Help tab > About Nitro Pro > Activate and enter your serial.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Thank you for your instructions and links above.  I have followed however once I reinstaled the product, when it went to launch I received the exact same message.  I have since rebooted the computer and the message remains.

Apologies but I am needing some more direction as to how I can fix this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Stephen,

The error message you are receiving is not be specific to Nitro. See this Microsoft forum article: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/vcruntime1401dll-missing-where-to-get/268964c7-6910-4cdd-9a96-b03f4c1f6954

Installing the x86 and x64 versions of Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 - 2019 Redistributable might solve the problem.

You can find them here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads-2647da03-1eea-4433-9aff-95f26a218cc0

Please let me know how that goes.

There have few methods to solve the error
Step1.Click on Windows search and type Control panel. Click on the matching result.
Step2.Change the view of the Control panel by selecting the Large icons option in the View by settings. Then go to Recovery.
Step3.Next, go to Open System Restore.
Step4. Here, click Next, then put a tick next to Show more restore points. Now, choose a restore point from the provided list and click Next.
step5. Finally, click Finish to confirm your choice and wait until your computer gets restored to the chosen restore point.

Here check vcruntime140 all methods and their details steps to follow.

This error message is directly related to the DLL file, when the VCRUNTIME140.DLL file is misplaced or deleted from the Windows system and you will face this error message. This error indicates a problem
with the 2015 version of the Visual C++ Redistributable because there is a known conflict between the 2017 version and the 2015 version.

Please follow these steps:

Open Programs and Features form Control Panel

Uninstall the 2017 version of the C++ Redistributalbe, if that is installed on your System.

Then from the link below, download and install the 2015 version, then once that is installed, download and install the 2017 version.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-GB/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

Please Note, regardless of whether your version of Windows 10 is 32bit or 64bit, you must download and install both the x86 and x64 versions, do not try to install the ARM64 version.

DLL or Dynamic Link Libraries are external parts of applications and services that run on the Windows system. DLL files are the important part of any computer / laptop and we cannot imagine an operating system without DLL files. A single DLL file can be shared by more than one application and services. That is why, when a dll file gets corrupted / deleted / moved from the system, all linked applications start launching DLL errors. Sometimes, this error message also starts to appear after installing a Windows update or an incorrect installation of any program. This is for the reason that, in all the latest updates or patches released by Microsoft, there may be a missing system file or dll file.
