I have purchased an upgrade, and can't install it.

At about 16% installed, I get a "Nitro Pro Setup Wizard has failed" message.

Before that happens, I see the message:  "Something is blocking Nitro from proceeding The following files are in use.  You'll have to close these applications before the installation can proceed. Click CONTINUE to close them and continue." (The only file specified is NitroPro.)
-- I click CONTINUE and get the "fail" message. Tried several times after rebooting computer.

I did download the 64-bit and it did not install either.

I am currently running version 11.  Do you think I should try downloading the version 12 upgrade to see if that would install?  Would the license # I just bought for the version 13 upgrade work with a version 12 install?

Hello @C. L. Wennerdahl

Kindly delete all previously downloaded installers from your Downloads folder.

Then use the tool I have provided below to remove all files associated with Nitro Pro and reboot your system.
https://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13353685/install-cleanup/install-cleanup.zip

NOTE: This clean-up tool will erase any existing signature files within Nitro, so please save them to another location before using the clean-up tool in order to keep them.

Please see this link for backing up custom stamps/signatures: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/stamps/000004307

When your system is back up, close all your open applications and install Nitro Pro 13.35.3.685 from the link below:
https://install.nitropdf.com/professional_13353685/en/retail/nitro_pro13_ba_x64.msi

I hope this helps! Please let me know how that goes.

Thank you.  I will try to follow those instructions on Monday.  I have a project to complete this weekend using my current version of NitroPro before it loses its functionality.  I don’t want to uninstall it immediately in case I still can’t install version 13.

Sorry, still won't install.  I ran the script.  Removed other installers.  Closed all the applications, and still got the error.

But the script didn't delete all vestiges of Nitro Pro.

It still shows in my program list, and in Nitro Pro menu functions (like "combine files").

I tried the Nitro Pro uninstaller through Win10, but it fails.

So I'm left with a remnant of Nitro Pro 11 that Is blocking the installation of Nitro Pro 13.

Hello @C. L. Wennerdahl

Please try using the Microsoft Fixit tool to remove Nitro Pro completely, and then try reinstalling:

Please let me know how that goes.

It is installed !!!  At First, the Fixit Tool seemed to only delete the program from the change/uninstall list.  But Nitro Pro still showed up in the Start Button Program list and in the File Explorer right-click menus.

The 64-bit installer version just kept stopping and saying it was interrupted.  It gave me no option to continue.

So I tried the original nitro_pro13.exe file again.  Yes, it stopped where it did before.  But that version gives you the choice to continue.  Whatever the Microsoft Fixit utility did seems allow the installer to just fix or ignore whatever was standing in the way.

Thanks for all your help.
