Manual activation not working as described

After wasting my time for an hour, browsing through the forum, it's time to start a new thread.

I have installed Nitro Pro 12 on  a new computer and apparently, the automatic activation doesn't work and it insists to do a manual activation (that's even before it asks for a licence number!)

It gives me the installation ID and then tells me to go to "www.nitro.com/activation", enter the Installation ID and serial number and copy down the activation certificate. Now you know as well as I do, that the address no longer exists. Thinking I am a smart cookie, I went to "www.gonitro.com/activation", which exists but actually asks for the certificate instead of the installation id and serial number...if I had a certificate, I wouldn't have to go to that site. 

So, the million dollar question is: How do I convince Nitro Pro 12 to be happy for me to enter a licence number and be happy or at least get to a site, where I can actually do what I am supposed to do.

I have downloaded a fresh copy of Nitro Pro 12, I have run the nitro uninstaller script and installed Nitro 12 again but the result is the same. 

I have checked the licence at https://licenses.gonitro.com/prd/portal and it tells me I have 2 permitted activations and there are currently no activations.

Can somebody help me sort this mess please as I really don't have time to burn on a job that should take 2 minutes to complete.

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums and our sincere apologies for this inconvenience.

In order to further assist you, could you please provide a screenshot of your 'About Nitro Pro' window under Help tab? This window should show the exact build of the program (format is 12.XX.X.XXX, e.g. 12.16.9.574). Same information is available by going to Control Panel > Programs and Features.

Lastly,  please provide the serial number of your Nitro Pro 12. To send it via private message, hover your mouse on top of my name 'AllainU' and select 'Message'.

This matters because our business installers are different from the online ones.

Thank you for the private message.

To further assist you, clear all your downloads folder or delete all downloaded Nitro installers. This step is important because we noticed that if you are saving all the installers and you download them in the same folder (like the downloads folder), the EXE can pick up any MSI installer in that folder and you may pick-up one of the older builds instead of the newly downloaded package.

Then you can find Nitro Pro 12.16.9.574 offline installer links below:

x32 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12169574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x86.msi 
x64 http://install.nitropdf.com/professional_12169574/en/retail/nitro_pro12_ba_x64.msi
