Excel virus/harmful files warning when opening hyperlink

We recently started using NitroPDF Pro instead of Adobe for PDF viewing.

When working in Excel, if you attempt to open a hyperlink to a PDF file on the local system a warning is popping up each time. Here is an image of that warning.

If we change back to Adobe this warning does not come up. Is there some setting that we can change to get around this issue when using Nitro?

Hi, I'm having the exact same issue as stated in the original message. Is there a solution for this?

I've added the network paths to the trusted location and trusted site under Internet Options, but no luck.
