Hello @SOBrien,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums!

Based on error description, you are getting an Error Code: 0x40000003 when saving the document.

A "0x400..." error codes are actually Microsoft Network error codes that are passed on to Nitro Pro.

Typically, these errors will occur if you are accessing a file that's not on your hard drive directly.

There is a possibility that the file is locked by Windows Explorer's Preview Pane and therefore not able to be saved over.

Please try closing Windows Explorer and not on its Preview Pane, then try the edit and save workflow again on the document.

You could also try saving the file directly on your computer (not on a network/shared folder). Once saved, copy the file from your computer to the network/shared folder.

Thank you for choosing Nitro and I hope this helps.

Hello @Barry Brookshire,

Thank you for reaching out to us through our Community Forums!

For the sake of initial troubleshooting of this issue, we recommend that you repair your Nitro Pro. Please reboot your computer before and after running this repair to ensure that there are no ties to Nitro still active in the background. You may refer to this article: https://kb.gonitro.com/knowledgebase#/search/repair/000004603

If Modify button is greyed-out, please refer to this screencast that will teach you how to go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features and repair your Nitro Pro program or any application installed on your system: https://www.screencast.com/t/rvpUkq40c

If repairing didn't help, could you please provide the following?:

-Is this a new issue or has it occurred since after installing Nitro Pro? Any changes you are aware of before this happened (e.g. Windows Updates)?

-The serial number of your Nitro Pro. This matters because our business installers are different from the online ones.

-Build of Nitro Pro are you working with. You can find this out by clicking on 'About Nitro Pro' under the Help tab (format is 13.X.X.X, e.g. 13.46.0.937) or you can go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.

-Does this happen with every file? If it is a single file, please send us the sample file (with sensitive information extracted) so I can replicate it on my end.

-A screenshot of the error message you are receiving and/or any important information. To find out how to take a screenshot using Snipping Tool, check out this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use-snipping-tool-to-capture-screenshots-00246869-1843-655f-f220-97299b865f6b

To send them via private message, hover your mouse on top of my name 'AllainU' and select 'Message'.

Thank you very much in advance and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

We have the same problem here. However, the initial situation is that the file is opened by two users. If user 1 then wants to save the file, the message comes that this is opened by another user. If user 2 closes the file, it happens that when user 1 wants to save the file again, then the 0x40000003 error message comes. With the new Version 13.70.2.40 the same behavior. Preview Pane is not active.
