I just reinstalled Nitro Pro (12.16.9.574) on a Windows 10 64-bit computer with a new SSD. Nitro Pro is set as the default app for pdf files. I'm now getting error message 401 every time I open a pdf file. Didn't get this at all on the previous installation.

Please advise how I can fix this. Thanks

Hi @Darren Pugh,

Please update your Nitro PDF Pro 12 installation to 12.16.9.574 by downloading the installer from the following location:

https://www.gonitro.com/nps/product-details/downloads - Click the 'Download Nitro Pro 12' link

After the update, confirm that it is 12.16.9.574 by going to the Help tab > About Nitro Pro. Once confirmed, please observe if you still get the 401 error message.

If the error persists, please do the following:

1. Open your Nitro Pro then close the 401 error message if it shows up.
2. At the top right, click the Logout then close Nitro Pro.
3. Open Nitro Pro then click the Login button and login using your Nitro Sign account.

Kind regards,

Thanks @Reymund G. - That helps for the most part. Now when I open a previously saved PDF I no longer get the error. However, if I get a PDF via email, Microsoft Teams, etc., and open it before first saving to my hdd, I still get the error. So it's better although not perfect.
